Hi, my name is Rachel and I’m the Chair aka Lippy Leader for 2014 following my stint as Vice-Chair. I’ve got big boots to fill, as the previous Chair said at the AGM; let’s hope I don’t ruin the place! Thankfully I can’t because Lippy Ladies MCC (LLMCC) is much more than just one person.
If I was asked what my mission statement is for the year it would be that “I wish to see LLMCC continue to thrive and be a place where riders of all abilities are welcomed. To see every member make new friends and become a better, safer rider.”
Luckily for me, the way that the Lippies is run and organised, all of the initial legwork has already been done for me! We already have a very full and exciting calendar for next year thanks to our extremely active members with trips away and monthly socials and ride outs organised by the four regional reps. The nature of the club already welcomes every new member with open arms and every new lady biker, regardless of riding experience or type of bike is actively encouraged by the membership to get involved and make friends.
Safety is always paramount on our ride outs so there is no need for anyone to be nervous. For the good of the club we actively promote RoSPA and the IAM and many of our members are already advanced riders, including myself.
So, I guess my job for the year is to do little more than ensure that the club remains to be the success it has over the past two, very short years and to help it continue to grow and grow and grow.
Sounds simple she says – watch this space!!
On a personal level, I’ve been riding 5 years and live in West Yorkshire with my husband and cat. My current bike is a 2012 CBR600F which I love but I’m also very excited to see what Honda have done with the VFR800.
Now, where’s that cake?
